He'll literally throw away half of what you do and make you do more paperwork. He did that for the last two people I dated when I was like eleven to twelve.
Bonnie and Clyde would be cool, minus the whole shot to death thing.
[Well, the spiders are pretty, so Eliza doesn't mind too much. And she does smile a bit at Pokey's reassurance.] Well...I don't really mind you recording that stuff. But...thanks for the offer. I...did you see anything about what happened on the ghosts' side? [She thinks there wasn't any, from what she skipped through, but she's not 100% sure.]
[She smiles a little at his reassurance.] It's pretty much what it sounds like. Us people who died...could still watch our friends, and we were mostly restricted to the same part of town they were. And we could only interact with the world in limited ways. [She pauses.] Well, the thing I want to tell you about first is actually kind of a funny story-did you see the marshmallow scene?
[Shit. It's not like he didn't know the girl had died during the thing. Obviously, she had, and here she was now. In a way, he knew that was just the nature of these places. Death was more temporary displacement then permanent, despite how it looked during that show.
Still, to watch something as a ghost in one of these places. That was surreal.
He can talk about, think about that later. Right now he's being asked something else.]
[She grins as she recalls it.] That was all me. I was just going to stick one on that guy's sword, but then he had to start cutting up those poor marshmallows. So throwing more at him turned out to be a good way to mess with him and get some of my friends to laugh.
[Pokey smirks at that, then laughs. Alright, he didn't really expect that from Eliza. Pranks seemed to be something someone as honest as her usually wouldn't engage in, which makes it even funnier.]
Okay, that one wasn't bad. That was a pretty good one. Not sure I would have used marshmallows, but it worked.
[To be fair, she didn't mean it as a prank at first.] Well, there was this...giant dollhouse that appeared in the town as well, and I tried to use one of the dolls to communicate with my friends, but I think I just freaked them out. [She giggles a little. It was frustrating then, but she can kind of see the humor now.] It's a good thing we could send messages once a week, so I could explain what was going on... [Her face gets a soft smile on it.] And Zack ended up bringing one of the dolls to my room so we could kind of communicate with that...
I'm putting t()gether s()me basic d()cumentati()n ()n h()w we handled the cl()ne sickness ()utbreak s() that Zephyr's friends have s()mething t() refer t() if they have the same pr()blem cr()p up in their realms - there's n() reas()n t() assume that we're the ()nly place with Facility cl()nes
D() y()u have any ()bjecti()n t() me namedr()pping y()u? I'm n()t putting in actual schematics ()r pr()gramming n()tes ()n the nanites - J()hn thinks it's best we keep the specs ()n th()se under wraps - but I am menti()ning that we used them and that we can pr()vide a limited supply if needed, and I'd like t() credit the team
Hey, if you want to give a shout out to how great I am, I'm not going to object. I think holding the actual programming notes back is a little over kill, but I can get why we'd do that.
Like I said, the secrecy ab()ut the nan()b()ts was J()hn's call, but since he's seen these things run am()k and I haven't, I'm willing t() c()ncede the p()int t() him
And haha, well, if there's ()ne thing I've learned in my sweeps ()n the transuniversal abducti()n circuit, it's that it's damn near imp()ssible t() predict when s()me()ne's g()ing t() c()me ()ver all paran()id ab()ut pers()nal deets. Figured it was better t() check in bef()re I went and ann()unced t() the multiverse at large that y()u're here. I'm n()t actually l()()king t() piss pe()ple ()ff m()st ()f the time ;)
[He isn't sure what else to say in regards to things like that, with Eliza's own death or the situation as a whole. It's awkward for him still, and he wishes he was one of the people he'd known on his own journies. One of the people who'd know for sure how to respond.]
Okay. I can get behind that. You don't know when the person you're talking to might go crazy over the idea of having you tell others about them. I appreciate it, but otherwise, you don't have to worry about that for me.
[Eliza blushes, looking quite flustered.] Thanks. I...I just wanted everyone to get out of there alive, especially after we learned about that spell to bring back the dead. We ghosts could do a bit more, so I did my best.
[She looks a bit awkward.] There were...some less happy bits. Especially when we ghosts had our meetings, since that meant people were kind of stuck with their murderers. I punched the jerk who killed me when he arrived, at least. As hard as I could.
