So. Okay.

I can't be the only one finding this hysterical, right? I mean you all do get what's going on?

It doesn't really matter which one we choose, we're getting used. It doesn't really matter if we pick Lucy or the Postman or whatever. We're just being screwed around with either way for the other to get what they want.

And you know? Even if we do pick the Postman? No guarantee we get to go home, or leave, or whatever. As far as we know what the guy summons may be something just to kill all of us. Lucy's a godawful little witch, but at least we know where we stand with her most of the time.

Really, I just think it's going to be awesome to see what happens next. So, which one of the two are you morons going to let yourself be tugged around by and side with?

Exactly. Until he gives us some proof to trust him, we have no reason to trust him. As far as I'm concerned, he's either as bad as Lucy, or this is still part of a con job to screw with us.

They aren't going to learn. If they try this again, watch. They'll fall hook line and sinker again.

Tell me about it. How long does it take to figure out that nothing good happens when one of these smug bastards goes on TV or the radio or whatever and makes flimsy promises?

Really, it's kind of a blessing to me. It shows me that no matter where they are or go, people are gullible morons ripe for conning.

Ugh... I mean, yeah, sure, that's a silver lining. It's just annoying. If they keep teaching the people in charge that this garbage works, it's gonna be a hassle for everyone in the future, including myself.

Oh, I know. As much as it sucks, it'd probably be a good idea to find a way to educate these morons. Or at least actually interfere to help if need be, much as that sucks.

It's like taking care of lemmings. They're just as determined as hell to walk off that cliff, and someone's gotta keep them from doing it because if we lose too many, there's a chance we all lose.

To be fair, while apparently everybody was gullible enough for the majority to vote for leaving, I surprisingly haven't seen much rioting in the streets in response to his bait just now.

Then we can hope they've wised up.

If that's the case, we're just going to have to worry about what our main opponents are going to do. Because when it becomes apparent this trick didn't work, if it really didn't? Then they're going to up the ante.

Which is fine by me. I hope they give us a reason to start a real fight soon.

If they were just really strong, I'd be on board with that plan, but can't they just instantly drone you if you try to fight them, no matter who you are? I think fighting will become practical once we find out if they have some kind of supercomputer for doing all this and blow it up.

There's different ways of fighting. And playing mind games can be just as much a type of warfare as actual battle. I'm happy for either.

And I'm hoping the reason they can do it is as simple as having a supercomputer.

Turning their mindgames on them, huh... I've yet to see you prove you're actually good enough at it, but I like the way you think.

Tell me, how does working close under an Overlord sound to you?

That depends.

What benefits, and what's expected of me, from working under you?

A few people would still probably outrank you, but you'd get to boss around most of my vassals whenever I regain access to them. And your only job is to do everything I say, unconditionally! Sweet gig, am I right?

[Well, he doesn't like the being outranked by others part, or the fact that he's expected to do shit unconditionally, but honestly? Not much worse then the last gig he had back home. And it's not like he doesn't have other allies to turn to if this gets fucked over. So why not.]

Heh. I've done worse as far as employers go.

I'm in.

In that c--

Wait, really? I can't remember the last time I recruited someone without having to beat them senseless. Of course, that's not all I can't remember, but...

Trust me.

After the last gig I had, anything would pretty much sound like a good deal.
