Stories (Forward Dated to Around 8 PM)
Jul. 26th, 2010 11:18 am[There's some grumbling at first as the phone comes off the hook and the sound of fingers tapping on a desk before Pokey starts sneaking.]
Well, since it's just my friggin' luck that I broke my leg, I guess I'm stuck in the house again. So, you know what? Decided I'm going to tell you all a story and see what you think of it. It's a stupid story, cause I made it when I was super friggin' young and crap, but I ain't got anything to do.
So, anyway, it's a story about brothers.
Once upon a time, there was a boy, and he was very lonely. There was nothing much interesting about him as there was very little he was good at, and what he was good at very few people seemed to care about. His parents didn’t pay attention to him most of the time, and when they did they were usually wicked to him. The other kids tended to ignore him, because his family was bad and so they labeled him as a bad boy as well, and because he didn’t know what else to do, he decided to act like a bad boy. He had only one friend in the entire world, but even he had many other friends, and so the boy was jealous of his friend, both because of how many friends he had and because of what he could do.
And then one day another little boy came to live at the bad boy’s house. The bad boy didn’t understand what a brother was supposed to be, so he was as scared and cautious around the other boy just as he was around other people for awhile. Even though his brother was still just a baby, he didn’t understand he didn’t need to be afraid at first, because that was just how the bad boy stupidly was.
But as time went on, he saw that the other boy wouldn’t hurt him, that rather, his brother was what he had been waiting for. He always listened to his plans and stories and tall tales and didn’t judge him, would help him with each of his little schemes and desires without question, and would play with him whenever the bad boy asked. He made the bad boy feel as if he wasn’t so bad sometimes. And, for a short time, the bad boy didn’t feel so bad anymore, because for the first time he had something worth looking out for.
So he did all he could for his brother, and as time went on they both grew to be great people because as long as they had each other to rely on, neither of them would ever really be lonely. They’d both go on to do exactly what they had wanted to do, to start families of their own to make up for the otherwise poor family they’d been stuck with. They’d be fine, because they had each other, and as long as they had that, there was always something to believe in.
[There's a pause for a moment.]
Pfft, jeez, sorry. I didn't notice just how much that sucked. Like I said, I was pretty young and friggin' stupid when I wrote that stupid thing so there you go. Almost feel bad about forcing you people to listen to that garbage. Anyone else got any better bedtime stories?

Hey, know that group you got that you told me about a bit ago? KND or whatever?
How many of you are there?
