[ There's a long pause that follows, you can almost hear her chewing nervously at her lip. ]

Well, I probably do know why I'm confused, and it is because some part of me, I don't know which part so don't ask I am still trying to figure that out, maybe sort of does like you as more than a friend! At first I thought it was just a leftover flower feeling, but it has been going on for a month now, so I don't really think so anymore.

[ It's all said a little fast, and her words start to run together by the end. ]

[ She doesn't believe that it's a lingering effect by this point, but waiting and seeing sounds like the right idea. And now that he knows, and she knows, maybe it's ok to let things develop from there. She's not really sure. Her only other realtionship was-- a weird one, to say the least, so she doesn't have a lot to go on. ]

Oh... [ There's a twinge of hurt in her voice, though it's barely noticeable. ] Well, that's okay. We can still be friends!

[He doesn't even know what he wants. Or he knows what he wants and does nothing to try and get it. Because really he's the master at making himself miserable.]

It's alright. If you like someone else, you like someone else! Like you said, the feelings will probably go away before too long.

[ She doesn't really believe that, but right now she's too focused on keeping her voice even to care. ]

Well, I did, but... it didn't work out.

[What does he say to that? He really doesn't have any clue. Does he try to be comforting, or does that come off as too awkward already? Does he ask what happened? Fuck if he knows. He ponders and ponders and just doesn't have a clue.]

[It's not a lie. Aside from Slugger and Picky, you've become one of the more constant friends in his life so far. He doesn't know if the feelings he has right now really are going to last or not or if they'll fade. In a weird way, he'd maybe like them if they stayed.

But at the very least, he's coming to find that at times he'd like to know more about some of the people in his life here, even if he usually tries to keep his mouth shut.]
