[At first, there's just silence over the phone, like someone knocked it over and forgot to put the receiver back up. Finally, after a few moments of this and of fake starts, Pokey finally speaks.]

So, with all the stupid age crap going on, I got a question for you people.

If you could stay one age, forever, would you? Or would you choose to keep aging?

Because, I mean, why wouldn't you want to stay the same age, right? I mean, it's pretty much immortality, and you wouldn't really miss out on anything by not getting older or anything. Really, you'd be doing better then them, right? So yeah.

Sorry, stupid question. Because it's not like anyone WOULDN'T take immortality when given the option. Because everyone would choose immortality.

Right?

Societies a bunch of jerk offs who think they get to pick what is or isn't acceptable, anyway. It's not like anything society does as a whole really matters, anyway. it's always individuals that get things rolling.

That is extremely true, but most often it is the case that those indiviuals make their way by using and standing on top of others. If you are incapable of making any contact at all, chances are cut down even as low as none at all.

Well yeah. You do have to make contacts, but its not like you have to get especially personal with them. Just enough that you can move them into a position most beneficial to yourself.

But that's the issue-what if you are not capable of even getting into a position to manipulate? What if there's absolutely no connection between you and the rest of humanity? You're trapped.

You could always hire someone else to work as a proxy for you, as long as you're sure you could outmaneuver them. Everyone has their price, and there's no such thing as a real good person.

But hiring someone would need a connection again. Making zero into anything else is nearly impossbile.

Not necessarily. If you promise someone enough of anything, you can assure they'll do what you want, connection or not. People are inherently greedy and power hungry, and a genuine connection is unnecessary to feed off that.
