Questions (Phone)
Nov. 18th, 2010 12:10 pm[At first, there's just silence over the phone, like someone knocked it over and forgot to put the receiver back up. Finally, after a few moments of this and of fake starts, Pokey finally speaks.]
So, with all the stupid age crap going on, I got a question for you people.
If you could stay one age, forever, would you? Or would you choose to keep aging?
Because, I mean, why wouldn't you want to stay the same age, right? I mean, it's pretty much immortality, and you wouldn't really miss out on anything by not getting older or anything. Really, you'd be doing better then them, right? So yeah.
Sorry, stupid question. Because it's not like anyone WOULDN'T take immortality when given the option. Because everyone would choose immortality.
Right?

[pause]
If all of my friends were on board with it too.

That's why you find ways to get around that. Like, to keep it from happening and all. And if you're immortal, you've probably had enough time to think on it, so you know a way to cheat it.

Date: 2010-11-18 06:29 pm (UTC)Why would that matter? If you were immortal, why would you need anyone, really? I mean it's not....it can't be that great.

Date: 2010-11-18 06:30 pm (UTC)Immortality isn't meant for humans. For other beings that aren't human, I couldn't say, I am not one of them, and so that doesn't concern me.
Humans are not meant to live forever, are not meant to go on into eternity. It drives one slowly insane, and I say that from the personal experience of having met Her Majesty Queen Victoria as she approaches two hundred.
I want to live my life, short and sweet as it is, and die honestly at the appointed hour whatever it may be. My immortality will come in leaving a mark on the history books so vibrant that it will never be forgotten. I don't need to extend my life to see it come to fruition, but rather I resolve to do my best with the time I have.

You people keep talking about making a mark, but not about seeing the mark you made yourself. So it's a pointless mark.

Date: 2010-11-18 06:48 pm (UTC)I just don't want to stay a kid while all my friends grow up. It would be too weird. They'd have to go off and do stupid adult things, and they'd forget all about me because we're too different now. I'd miss them. The KND would give me a new team, but they'd grow up too. Eventually you'd just stop caring.

Date: 2010-11-18 06:50 pm (UTC)Well why bother trusting in people in the first place? I mean, really, all that's going to happen is that they're eventually going to hurt you anyway. The best idea is to form...business relations, I guess. Acquaintances, instead of friends.
