[At first, there's just silence over the phone, like someone knocked it over and forgot to put the receiver back up. Finally, after a few moments of this and of fake starts, Pokey finally speaks.]

So, with all the stupid age crap going on, I got a question for you people.

If you could stay one age, forever, would you? Or would you choose to keep aging?

Because, I mean, why wouldn't you want to stay the same age, right? I mean, it's pretty much immortality, and you wouldn't really miss out on anything by not getting older or anything. Really, you'd be doing better then them, right? So yeah.

Sorry, stupid question. Because it's not like anyone WOULDN'T take immortality when given the option. Because everyone would choose immortality.

I'm still twelve in most respects, but I'm a time traveler. In accumulated time, I've lived about four hundred years.

That isn't an argument. You can't just say "what do you understand" and expect me to give an answer. It inherently lets you pick at flaws that may or may not be there, and gives the illusion that you possess more knowledge then you actually do by stating you know something more then the person you asked the question too.

Very well. Then let me put this in simple terms you probably have never considered about immortality.

Every year as man develops, things change. This will mean for your entire life, you will have to adjust to the changing of technology, of people, events, and so on and so forth.

On top of this, all the things you like will eventually pass out of existence, and those things of which you hate will inevitably come to the surface again.

Adjustment is easy and I would have to do that as a human anyway.

That's why I keep the things I like with me. And "causing mischief and mayhem" can pretty much be done in any time period.

Things, like humans, break down. No matter if you keep something with you, it will inevitably be destroyed eventually.

And, eventually, you will meet someone that cannot be replaced. Their lack of immortality will mean you shall lose them.

Except it does. I've done it for four hundred years. I have all the knowledge of someone whose LIVED THAT LONG.

And I've been just fine on my own.

You have learned nothing, then. Knowledge of history, science, and subjects one uses in every day life are only one part of knowledge itself.

Knowledge of self, knowledge of others, of living and of dying, of caring and of hate, of happiness and sadness, these are all vital pieces of knowledge that you have not had time enough to learn, nor apparently someone to help teach you.

Knowledge of self comes from knowledge of science and history and war. Those are things I'm about. Same with living and dying. They're one in the same. Happiness and sadness are unimportant. The only thing you need to know about others is how to manipulate them and use them, and that's all anyone truly cares about other people.
